Back to Presidents Who Rocked
John Quincy Adams, flautist
National Archive/Newsmakers
John Quincy Adams was a revered diplomat and politician. Before he was elected President, Adams had annexed Florida from the Spaniards -- forever endearing him to the hearts of retired old people -- and authored the Treaty of Ghent, which ended the War of 1812. He also played the flute, which we guess is pretty cool, so long as he played it in a Ron Burgundy sort of way.
