FDR was such an avid fan of the piano that he commissioned and helped design a version of the instrument for the White House. The Steinway concert grand is supported by three gilded eagles and remains in the East Room to this day where, coincidentally, president Obama showcased his vocal talents in the company of Buddy Guy and Mick Jagger.
