We can say without a doubt that this is the best retro-influenced album about a homosexual Hollywood drifter of all time. J. Tillman's mushroom-enhanced reinvention as Father John Misty was one of this year's most unexpectedly outstanding offerings, and we can't wait to hear more of this characters weirdo adventures. -- Dan Reilly
