40. Stars, 'The North'
The Canadian super group has consistently made pretty, easily digestible music -- and it works. They haven't made too many changes to their overall formula of orchestral backdrops, electro accompaniment and the best vocals in indie-pop music. And why should they? The North just solidifies Stars as a band you can always count on to soundtrack those emotional moments, from walking alone in the rain to seeing your loved one for the first time in months. -- Cameron Matthews
