Back to Unplugged: The Five Best and Worst Acoustic Albums
WORST: The Black Crowes -- 'Croweology'
Silver Arrow
Sometimes context makes an acoustic album earn a place on a worst list. It's hard to shake the feeling that Croweology -- an acoustic double-album released to both commemorate The Black Crowes' 20th anniversary and announce an indefinite hiatus -- is a bloated, indulgent farewell, especially considering it was released on the heels of another double-disc release, 2009's excellent Before the Frost... Until the Freeze. As far as victory laps go, the band should have quit while it was ahead.
