Recorded on a 1995 acoustic tour, the live acoustic Martin + Me became the Dinosaur Jr. frontman's first solo album. The Dinosaur songs -- including "Thumb" and "Blowin It" are stripped of the intricate solos and the weight of cranked-up Marshall stacks the band is known for, and they still work. The album serves as a precursor of sorts to Mascis' phenomenal 2011 solo studio debut, Several Shades of Why.
