In 2010, Spinner reported Gaslight Anthem's singer/guitarist Brian Fallon had his acoustic guitar's headstock cracked by American Airlines. Fallon told Spinner he discovered employees "threw it" after asking what happened. American Airlines refused to pay for the damage, noting that if the guitar case wasn't broken they weren't responsible for damaged contents inside of it. "I wish I could get that policy, because with bar fights, I would never have gotten a ticket when I was young," Fallon quipped. Days after the incident, American Airlines asked for an interview with the band for their glossy in-flight magazine. The band said no.
