How Goth is... Grimes?

"I don't hear a lot of goth in Grimes' music. I appreciate the experiments and the risk-taking that she does fits into sort of the art school goth tradition. And it's spooky and ethereal at times, and she's signed to 4AD -- it's sort of like a great dress that has the wrong belt. I don't hear the gothiness in Grimes, even though it's spooky and ethereal. To me it's more sci-fi than horror. It's too proggy to be goth."
