How goth is...The Horrors?

"The Horrors is exactly an example of a band that started off really goth and veered off in a non-goth direction. When I first heard the Horrors I was like, 'This is amazing!' their sort of post-punk garage sounded to me like the bastard child of the Birthday Party and the Gruesomes from the Flintstones. And so I thought they were totally goth, but they immediately rejected it, even though they were called 'the Horrors.' Even though they dressed in black. Like, 'Sheena is a Parasite' is one of my favourite videos of the last 10 years. It's so great. And now they want to be, like, some psychedelic band."
