Amy Winehouse Plans to Release Rejected Bond Song

Amy Winehouse doesn't take no for an answer. When producers of the upcoming James Bond flick 'Quantum Of Solace' passed over her theme song last month in favor of the Jack White/Alicia Keys collaboration 'Another Way to Die,' the embattled singer decided to go it alone and release her unwanted song after all.

Winehouse reportedly intends to "prove that [film executives] made a "big mistake" by dismissing her then-unfinished Bond theme contender. She's even thinking of releasing the Mark Ronson-produced tune the same week as the new White/Keys single. "I guess they are going for clean-cut and boring," Winehouse reportedly told Britain's New Magazine. "When I do release mine -- and I am tempted to do it on the same day -- this would be the bigger hit."

"I do think they could have waited a bit," a confident Winehouse said, pointing to her head. "If they want a worldwide hit, I have them all up here."

Alicia Keys and Jack White Team for Bond Theme

Sorry, Amy Winehouse. No Bond for you. While the embattled Brit was rumored to be penning the new James Bond theme, R&B songstress Alicia Keys and White Stripes/Raconteurs brainchild Jack White will team for the honor for the upcoming 'Quantum of Solace.' Titled 'Another Way To Die,' the song was written and produced by White, who also plays drums and counts the soulful pipes of the eleven-time Grammy winner Keys.

The film's soundtrack -- which upholds a 45-year tradition of themes for the movie franchise -- will be released October 28. Other Bond theme veterans include Paul McCartney and Wings ('Live and Let Die'), Carly Simon ('Nobody Does It Better'), Duran Duran ('A View to a Kill'), Madonna ('Die Another Day') and, most recently, Chris Cornell, who sang 'You Know My Name' for 2006's 'Casino Royale.'

Previous reports suggested vocalists like Leona Lewis, Duffy, Annie Lennox and the recently hospitalized Winehouse were all in the running for the title. The film is slated to debut in theaters on November 7.

Winehouse Hospitalized, Released After Adverse Reaction to Drugs

Amy Winehouse was released today after being hospitalized Monday from an apparent seizure. The 24-year-old 'Rehab' singer was taken by ambulance late yesterday from her home in north London to the University College Hospital.

"Amy is fine and she is on her way home," her representative, Chris Goodman, announced earlier today. "She was taking a new [medication] as part of her anti-drug treatment program and it was an adverse reaction to that new drug. You have to try different things but unfortunately this was not the right one."

Grammy-winner Winehouse -- who was observed being taken to the ambulance wrapped in a red blanket as her father, Mitch, looked on -- has had a history of drug struggles. In June, she was admitted to a London clinic after fainting at home and being diagnosed with a "chest infection."

In mid-2007, Winehouse was treated at the aforementioned University College Hospital for "exhaustion." Her father later admitted that she had overdosed and need her stomach pumped.

Amy Winehouse Lashes Out at Glastonbury

Amy Winehouse's appearance at UK's Glastonbury Festival may have been a success, but it didn't go without drama. This may not be much of a surprise.

According to a festival spokesperson, the singer punched a fan who groped her during her performance of 'Rehab.' Winehouse was strutting along the front row of a crowd of 80,000 under the protection of several security guards when the disturbance occured.

The audience member who was allegedly struck spoke out to BBC News, claiming that Winehouse actually mistook him for the person who caused the commotion. Seemingly unnerved, the London fan said, "It is all part of the Glastonbury experience. I'm just pleased I got to see her ... not everyone can say they have been hit by Amy Winehouse."

Amy Winehouse Compared to Famed Poet

Since she's recently displayed a disconcerting propensity for looking like something that's been unearthed after a few centuries in the crypt, we're not shocked that a British academic has noticed a similarity between Amy Winehouse and Sir Walter Raleigh. As such, the prof -- who's tenured at Cambridge University -- crafted a final exam asking his students to compare and contrast the work turned out by the woman responsible for some of the year's most smokin' video footage with that of the 16th-century poet.

As it turns out, the pair have more in common than just a flair for iambic pentameter and high-maintenance hairstyles. Raleigh had his share of run-ins with the law as well, and spent a goodly amount of time battling with legal authorities -- although his charges were comparatively run-of-the-mill, involving a plot to kill the King of England, rather than headbutting a fellow drinker while painting the town red. Raleigh is also widely considered to be the man who introduced tobacco to the United Kingdom, and while we're not sure Amy has a thing for menthols, we're sure anyone pointing out her fondness for recreational combustibles would garner extra credit on the test.

Winehouse Pleads With Hubby Via Vermin

Amy Winehouse and new BFF Pete Doherty posted yet another bizarre YouTube video today. In the latest, puzzling installment, Wino uses her lost-little-girl voice to speak through a just-born rodent. Her message? A plea to husband Blake "Incarcerated" Fielder-Civil: "Blake, please don't divorce Mummy. She loves you ever so." Watch for it around 1:25.

Winehouse and Doherty Set to Duet?

We all know the old adage about birds of a feather flocking together. We need look no further than Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty, who are reportedly set to duet. Doherty's Babyshambles guitarist Mick Whitnall revealed that the collaboration is definite and slated for the band's next studio album.

Speaking to London's Daily Star, Whitnall said that Doherty wrote the song during his recent prison stay. He and Amy went "straight to the recording studio" when he was released from jail last week.

The pairing of rock's notoriously troubled stars comes on the heels of just released news that Winehouse will reportedly make her modeling debut when she walks the runway in designs by Julien Macdonald during London's upcoming fashion week.

The singer -- who was incarcerated last week on a drug possession offense --- was also reportedly working on the theme to the new James Bond movie. However, producer Mark Ronson announced last week that she was not ready to record.
