Evan Dando Goes Under Covers With Liv Tyler and Kate Moss

If the Lemonheads doing a covers album featuring songs by Leonard Cohen, GG Allin and Christina Aguilera with guest vocals from Liv Tyler and Kate Moss is, well, unusual, consider the record's genesis. "I bought this painting, the cool spirograph that's on the album cover, and it was a little out of my price range," main Lemonhead Evan Dando tells Spinner about his new album, 'Varshons.' "My next original record wasn't done, and Gibby Haynes was burning me these mix CDs with great songs, so I asked him to produce a covers album for me."

Haynes, the lead singer of the Butthole Surfers, included obscure tracks like July's 'Dandelion Seeds' and Sam Gopal's 'Yesterlove' on his mixes, which set the tone for the album. "I'd never heard some of them, which was actually sort of the point," Dando says. "We wanted to do something psychedelic and inevitably country crept in. There's definitely twisted songs that I kept listening to."

Alter-Egomaniacs: Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera aka Xtina

Former 'Mickey Mouse Club' member Christina Aguilera wanted a more "mature" image for her second album, 2002's 'Stripped,' so she traded in her mouse ears for a black bustier and the letters in her given name for a new spelling. She was so dedicated to her spicy new persona that she got "Xtina" tattooed on the back of her neck -- presumably as a reminder for whoever was behind her at the time.

Celebrity Doppelganger: Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera debuted a more severe form of her platinum hair/raven eyes look on the VMAs red carpet this year, where all we could think was, "Welcome to the show, Elvira!" 'House Bunny' star Anna Faris adopted a similar style for her gig hosting 'Saturday Night Live' -- her monologue had us seeing double.

Shockingly Cocky Quotes: No. 21

Kanye West wasn't the first star to get too big for his britches. Recording contracts have come with an egotism clause since the beginning of music. Lucky for us, big-headed rants are often said on-the-record. Spinner counts down the 20 cockiest quotes from some of music's most lovable megalomaniacs.

"I'm an ocean, because I'm really deep. If you search deep enough you can find rare exotic treasures."
-- Christina Aguilera
