Keane, 'You Haven't Told Me Anything' -- Video Premiere

Less than three years ago, it would have been hard for Tom Chaplin to imagine his band, Keane, would be together for another album and tour. Now the band is through a few legs of their trek in support of its third album, 'Perfect Symmetry,' and they're having the time of their lives.

Chaplin said he had a meltdown in 2006, which landed him in rehab for alcohol and drug abuse, and the band had to get past the pressure of its success or break up. They chose the former, and never looked back. "In the last few years we've had this really fun-loving approach to being on the road and being with each other," Chaplin tells Spinner. "The shows have this mad energy to them, which I think impacted on the way we made 'Perfect Symmetry.' And it fired us up to get out there and play to as many people as we can."

Keane Keep Company With Kanye West

Almost two months shy of releasing their third album, 'Perfect Symmetry,' Keane have finally touched down on American soil for a string of intimate dates.

The band, which arrived earlier this week, started off their campaign by recording an outdoor concert for an upcoming episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' which airs later this month. Meanwhile, they have three tiny gigs in Los Angeles, starting today, before heading back home for the holidays. But Chaplin said the band is looking forward to heading west once again after the New Year.

Keane's Chaplin Returns From Rehab Rejuvenated

They are known for their big piano-driven ballads like 'Somewhere Only We Know,' but on 'Perfect Symmetry,' British trio Keane's third album, the band wrote themselves a new template.

"There's the sort of poppyness of it and the funky-ness, and I suppose the dancability of the whole thing," frontman Tom Chaplin tells Spinner . "It was just a stream of consciousness. It's just what came out -- what was kind of inside us."

The three piece -- Chaplin, drummer Richard Hughes, and pianist and main-songwriter Tim Rice-Oxley -- took the cuts the latter member wrote to Paris, followed by Berlin, where they self-produced the record earlier this year.

"Everything that we recorded and everything that we added to those songs, really just had this joie de vie about it," Chaplin explained. "We were just excited the whole way through. We were just like little kids looking at each other with starry eyes and just very excited about what we were doing."

Keane, 'The Lovers Are Losing' -- New Video

Keane, who release their third full-length album on October 14, explore a war-inspired theme in the video for their latest single. Without the comfort of bandmates Tim Rice-Oxley and Richard Hughes by his side, lead singer Tom Chaplin finds himself running in a dreamlike solo journey. Set in a rural landscape, the day-to-night sequence is comprised of a chase, a crash scene and explosions in the distance. Watch the video below. Buy it on iTunes.
